Aligning Multiple Knowledge Graphs in a Single Pass

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Entity alignment (EA) is to identify equivalent entities across different knowledge graphs (KGs), which can help fuse these KGs into a more comprehensive one. Previous EA methods mainly focus on aligning a pair of KGs, and to the best of our knowledge, no existing EA method considers aligning multiple (more than two) KGs. To fill this research gap, in this work, we study a novel problem of aligning multiple KGs and propose an effective framework named MultiEA to solve the problem. First, we embed the entities of all the candidate KGs into a common feature space by a shared KG encoder. Then, we explore three alignment strategies to minimize the distances among pre-aligned entities. In particular, we propose an innovative inference enhancement technique to improve the alignment performance by incorporating high-order similarities. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of MultiEA, we construct two new real-world benchmark datasets and conduct extensive experiments on them. The results show that our MultiEA can effectively and efficiently align multiple KGs in a single pass.

Two Heads Are Better Than One: Integrating Knowledge from Knowledge Graphs and Large Language Models for Entity Alignment

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Entity alignment, which is a prerequisite for creating a more comprehensive Knowledge Graph (KG), involves pinpointing equivalent entities across disparate KGs. Contemporary methods for entity alignment have predominantly utilized knowledge embedding models to procure entity embeddings that encapsulate various similarities-structural, relational, and attributive. These embeddings are then integrated through attention-based information fusion mechanisms. Despite this progress, effectively harnessing multifaceted information remains challenging due to inherent heterogeneity. Moreover, while Large Language Models (LLMs) have exhibited exceptional performance across diverse downstream tasks by implicitly capturing entity semantics, this implicit knowledge has yet to be exploited for entity alignment. In this study, we propose a Large Language Model-enhanced Entity Alignment framework (LLMEA), integrating structural knowledge from KGs with semantic knowledge from LLMs to enhance entity alignment. Specifically, LLMEA identifies candidate alignments for a given entity by considering both embedding similarities between entities across KGs and edit distances to a virtual equivalent entity. It then engages an LLM iteratively, posing multiple multi-choice questions to draw upon the LLM's inference capability. The final prediction of the equivalent entity is derived from the LLM's output. Experiments conducted on three public datasets reveal that LLMEA surpasses leading baseline models. Additional ablation studies underscore the efficacy of our proposed framework.

PRASEMap: A Probabilistic Reasoning and Semantic Embedding based Knowledge Graph Alignment System

arXiv.org Artificial Intelligence

Knowledge Graph (KG) alignment aims at finding equivalent entities and relations (i.e., mappings) between two KGs. The existing approaches utilize either reasoning-based or semantic embedding-based techniques, but few studies explore their combination. In this demonstration, we present PRASEMap, an unsupervised KG alignment system that iteratively computes the Mappings with both Probabilistic Reasoning (PR) And Semantic Embedding (SE) techniques. PRASEMap can support various embedding-based KG alignment approaches as the SE module, and enables easy human computer interaction that additionally provides an option for users to feed the mapping annotations back to the system for better results. The demonstration showcases these features via a stand-alone Web application with user friendly interfaces.
